Huge congratulations to Niamh Peakman who was awarded the Scottish Synchro Swimmer of the Year trophy at the Scottish Swimming Awards on Saturday night in Aberdeen.
Our 13-15 team travelled down to Manchester to take part in the inaugural Combo Cup. The Combo Cup featured free combination routines across five age groups in two divisions; Division 1 open to swimmers who hold up to Figure Grade 3, and Division 2 open to those who hold at least Grade 3. Our swimmers took part in the Division 2 13-15 age group competition.

21 of our swimmers enjoyed a packed weekend of synchro and activities at Whithaugh Park. Three groups went to work on the routines and do a bit of team bonding. They returned to do a display to their parents in our normal Sunday training session and it showed how much work they had put in over the weekend.
Thanks to Margo, Cath, Eva and Christine for accompanying the girls and coaching / team managing so well.
Well done to all our swimmers who passed a grade on Sunday.
Grade One: Ella, Niamh, Rose and Sienna
Grade Two: Heather and Jessie
Grade Three: Erin, Freya, Lucy, Miryam and Natalia (Mae and Torri took this grade again as they are too young to take Grade Four and both increased their scores from last time)
Grade Four: Ailsa, Aman, Baylee, Caitlin, Cale, Jennifer, Kiku, Maya and Sara – a 100% pass rate for this grade!
Congratulations to you all.
On Sunday Gordon, our Scottish Swimming Regional Development Manager, came to our training session to award the club its SynchroMarkPlus certificate. Edinburgh Synchro is the first synchro club to achieve this, which is Scottish Swimming’s highest accreditation.
Clubs with this accreditation have shown that they are committed to a safe, effective and child friendly environment for our swimmers, have well trained, committed coaches and volunteers, strong governance, and are members of the wider community.
Congratulations to the club and thank you for all the work our volunteers have put in to achieving this accreditation.
