Edinburgh took a team of 27 swimmers to the Scottish National Age Group Championships in Drumchapel at the weekend and most came home with at least one medal. Edinburgh came second overall in the National club competition. On Saturday morning it was the figues competition for the 12 competitive swimmers. Baylee won the bronze National 12&under age group and Niamh won gold in the National 13,14,15 age group. Niamh came a very impressive 14th overall out of 83 swimmers from all over the UK.
On Saturday afternoon Niamh swam in the 13,14,15 age group solo competition and won the silver. On Sunday morning Jennifer and Katriona swam brilliantly in the 19&under recreational duet category.
Sunday afternoon is for teams and Edinburgh Synchro was the first Scottish team in a long time (ever?) to be able to enter 12&under and 13,14,15 competitive teams. Our girls swam wonderfully and both teams were rewarded with a National gold medal for their efforts.
Edinburgh had two recreational combination teams in the Open event and Edinburgh A won the bronze medal, with 0.8 points between the top three teams.
Well done to everyone and thank you to those who came along to support the team.

An additional bonus was that Stephen Milne the olympic swimmer came along to watch on Sunday, and lots of the team were able to meet him.
