Swimmers compete in the Swim England National Age Groups with Caledonia

Seven Edinburgh swimmers went to Gloucester at the weekend to compete in the Swim England National Age Group Championships as part of the Caledonia Synchro team.
Amy, Lucy, Mae and Torri were in the 12&under age group and Kiku, Niamh and Sara were in the 13/14/15 age group.

Niamh came 34th out of 175 swimmers in figures, and was the highest ranking Scottish swimmer. Sara came 62nd and Kiku 136th. They swam their team routine to the Sherlock soundtrack and came 15th out of 17 teams.

Torri came 47th out of 129 swimmers in figures, Lucy 49th, Mae 60th and Amy 112th. They swam their team routine well, culminating in an amazing back somersault lift by Lucy, and came 9th out of 13 teams.

This was the first full year of the Caledonia programme and they did not have much time at all to work on their routines, in comparison with the English clubs. Many Edinburgh swimmers have applied to be in the 2018 Caledonia programme and we wish them well.
